one society thing that drives me crazy is trying to scare us by quoting the scripture about one who knows the truth and leaves is worse off than others who have never known the truth.. question: if every non-jw is going to die at armageddon, how can someone who leaves be worse off?

The funny part about your question is, whether you're in or out, the GB always keeps you on the edge of salvation in order to keep the book sales up! Even though I was a devout () witless () I constantly quetioned my status with god; "if the big A came tomorrow, would I be ready"? "Have I talked to EVERYONE I know about da troof? "Have I unknowingly greived the holy spirt?" etc. etc. ad finium.
It really sucked to be a witness
made light of the whole ordeal.. turned it into a 4-day mini-vacation; 4 days away from kitchen and house chores!
we all got to stay in a very plush hotel in the theme parks area of orlando, fl.
walked around the some main attractions during the evenings.. took a lot of notes, but just in order to stay awake, not that anything said is new stuff really.

when they announced the meetings for aspiring bethelites and missionaries, they've lowered the ages of admittance.. also, to become a bethelite the person doesn't need to be a pioneer any longer.
any publisher in good standing, male or female, was encourage to attend such recruiting meeting.. i guess the need is greater now.. dy
so maybe it's a slight change. There comes a point, though, in our apostate ramblings when you 'gotta ask, "What the hell is the big deal?"
It's not that small changes are a big deal, but it could be indicative of something going on within the borg. That's why I'm interested in these topics. i am old enough to remember the days when conventions lasted many long days and large.
numbers of brothers were employed in preparing hot meals served on trays, army-style.
also recall how good these steam cooked meals tasted - and how policemen, assigned to.
One of the many reasons I left is because it's just a joyless religion that tries to impose a joyless existence on its adherents. It is no wonder that so many are leading double lives. All of the 'simplification' just goes to show that the GB are not conscious of basic human social needs. For me it takes a whole lot more than selling the botchtower and asleep to give my life a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
hi everyone, i'm new here......basically, i found this website a couple of weeks ago when i was in dire need of some like-minded souls who had felt screwed up about the jw's.
from about the age of four/five, my parents and i were involved in the organisation, and all three of us are stil messed up because of it.....we are no longer involved in it, but it took quite a few years before my parents found the strength to leave.
to begin with, i was quite a zealous jw, was baptised at twelve and disfellowshipped at fourteen, because as i got older i began to grow ''weak in the truth'' as people so kindly described me!
Welcome to the forum girl! I know the jw apologists can't affect you. I really feel for them. Perhaps some day they'll have the courage the rest of us have had to truly open their eyes and see the organization for what it really is: At best, it's just another religion, at the very worst, it's a cult that destroys and wastes peoples lives. They can make up all the excuses in the world but it still doesn't change the fact that it is a waste of time to spend ones life as a volunteer bookseller hoping to win the prize of life eternal. jmusic calls that "purpose". I call it an extraordinary waste of ones talent.

so ive had this fish tank set up for a year and a bit and the stock has slowly dwindled through one thing or another, the main being a bad water change when the ph dropped and some rather nasty silver tipped tetras who seem to have bullied themselves down to two in number.
current residences are a plecostomous, coolie loach and the two remaining tetras.
on saturday i bought five lady guppies and two flying foxes.

the doctor ant the wts lawyers convinced bethany that the arsenic treatment could cure her.

one of my bad habits is cracking my neck and spine.
so many times when i'm tense i move my head from side to side and hear a loud series of cracks in my neck and the tension just melts away.
same with my spine, i can twist my body a certain way and feel and hear my lower spine crack.
Back cracker here. I knew I was not alone. I had a therapist tell me not to do it - said it's bad for me. Maybe, but that 60 bucks an hour was kicking my a**!
kls - my ex used to have me walk on his back. I thought it was kinda fun . Boy was I one bored witless (lol).
